Libya increasingly closer to Italy thanks to Tarros Group
The Libya service has been renewed: now even more frequent, faster, and competitive.
Libya has always been a strategic priority for both Italy and Tarros Group, which for over 50 years has positioned itself as a preferred partner for maritime connections between the two countries. Today, Tarros further strengthens its presence with a direct, regular, and highly competitive service, combining increased frequency with shorter transit times.
An efficient logistics solution supporting Italian industry
The ILE (Italy Libya Express) service provides a direct link between Northern Italy’s industrial hubs and the Libyan ports of Tripoli and Misurata, with regular sailings from La Spezia every 10 days.
Shipments from Southern Italy are served by several weekly departures from Salerno via La Spezia, enabling efficient coordination and maximum flexibility within the supply chain.
The service rotation, designed to meet customers’ operational needs, includes a Malta call to accommodate local market traffic to and from Libya.
Thanks to the ten-day sailing frequency and fast transit times, Tarros Group offers an efficient and sustainable logistics solution, minimizing the environmental footprint of transport operations.
Direct presence and local support
Tarros Group is present in Libya with two offices, based in Tripoli and Misurata, where dedicated staff provide on-site commercial and operational support.
The Group’s extensive presence across the territory enables support to Italian operators in managing procedures related to the new regulation issued by the Ministry of Economy and Trade of Libya, recently suspended by the Authorities, which will in future govern authorised banking channels for import and export operations.
“The decision to develop a new version of the Italy–Libya service stems from operational needs but also carries significant commercial and business implications. Our deep knowledge of the country and the strategic importance of Libya in trade relations with Italy drive this new challenge undertaken by the Group. The express service connects Italy and Libya with greater speed and frequency, meeting the growing demand for transport. High quality standards, dedicated customer care, and service flexibility are the key features of this line, which perfectly complements the network of connections the Group provides to its clients every day.” Comments Valentina De Bernardi, Tarros Chief commercial Officer
